I graduated from UAB in May of 2011 with a BS in Biology from the honor's program. I love animals and children and aspire to be a pediatric neurologist one day. I grew up in Mobile and graduated in 2007 from Murphy's IB program, and moved back home after college. I have about 10 years of experience working with children. I worked as a regular nanny for a Sittercity family for 3 years along with other families in the Forest Park and Mountain Brook areas. I have 3 adorable nephews ages 6, 3, and 18 months.

    The majority of my experience comes from being a volunteer camp counselor at a camp for children and adults with mental and physical disabilities, Camp SMILE, for 4 years. The past two summers I worked all summer at Camp Nakanawa for Girls in Crossville, TN. I worked in 2008 at Riverview Camp for Girls in Mentone, AL. In both camps I was a senior counselor and horseback riding instructor. I have also volunteered as a teachers' aid at a Birmingham preschool for children with disabilities working with infants and 2 year olds.  Due to the nature of the locations where I volunteer I have been heavily trained in dealing with disabilities including training in basic sign language. I am completely comfortable watching multiple children (living with eight 10-year-old girls 24/7 for a whole month prepares you for most things, I'm convinced.)

I like to ride my two horses and attempting to play the flute and piano. I sew, cook, and garden in my spare time. I'm friendly, peppy, and overly cheerful and enjoy teaching kids new songs and telling stories. I like playing outside and really enjoy working with children of all ages. I have a reliable vehicle and I'm willing to travel quite a distance.
