Hello, my name is Sophia Fernandez and I am a 24 years old. I have been a nanny/babysitter/mother's helper for a total of five years.  I am an active hands on babysitter. My phone is checked in at the door and my top priority is the safety and time well spent with your young ones. I grew up in the era of playing outside till the street lights come one and till this day I still believe that children should be active and can be well entertained not by what's on tv but through life experiences. I love to bring or come up with activities whether it be painting ceramics to sorting and stringing beads playing hide and seek or even helping make dinner, I love staying active and keeping little brains busy. I have had the pleasure of working with three different families over the years. The first family was a total of three children, two boys and a girl that varied in ages 4, 2, and a newborn. The family was Orthodox Jews which introduced me to a whole new way of life. Their practices of eating a different way and operating under different beliefs meant when I entered the household, I too had to adapt to their lifestyle. I would watch the children in their home with or without their mother present, accompanied them on outings throughout the week as well as accompanying them on a trip to San Diego for the summer as a pair of extra hands. After three years of services I felt like part of the family. The second family I worked was a pair of two little ladies ages 4 and 6. I was a live in nanny as well as a mother's helper once again. I was in contact with them on a daily basis helping the oldest with her homework preparing two to three meals a day. We often played outside went on outings and went hiking with their mother regularly. The last family I worked with was a pair of boys one age 11 and the other age 5. This was an over the summer job while the oldest was out of school and was only for a few hours a day and on date nights. At present, I am currently attending school three days a week as a part-time student. I just recently ended a one year commitment to a care giving company that was focused on behavioral as well as some developmental and physical disabilities. Before that year I also worked for a six month period with a group of paraplegic and quadriplegic gentlemen. So I have worked with both the young and old, from independent to dependent care of the highest level. I do have CPR, First Aid as well as my Fingerprint Clearance Card. I always clean up after all adventures and am always willing to lend a hand in random tasks to be done. I consider it a blessing to bless others with the genuine love and care that I would desire for my own family.
