Shanel M. Babysitter in Inglewood, CA 90302. Looking for work as a babysitter.

Got a last minute appointment and my regular babysitter (whom I found from Sittercity ;-) wasn't available. Hated to have to work with a stranger but had to take a chance, plus my mum and I live together so she'd be able to oversee the care. Shanel was a great relief. Before I could even begin my spiel she began asking all the pertinent questions (food, sleep schedule, temperament, likes & dislikes, etc) and before I left she was already playing peekaboo with my son, which did a great deal to break the ice between them. When I finally allowed her, she took charge and all was well. I kept calling mum to check up on them and mum didn't hesitate to say "this one is good" Very comfortable in her skin, which put us all at ease. She even brought books to read for nap time. A find. Good people. Look forward to seeing her again. P.S. Oh, did I mention she was on time? To the minute!. She even text me 2 hours before to let me know she had woken up and was getting ready. More information than I needed but glad she cared enough to make the effort. Somebody raised this child well. - Michael H.

I can't say enough good things about Shanel. I really can't, and if I did, you may think I was a friend of hers trying to make her look good or something. But seriously, I don't know her and I never met her until Saturday. I'm a stay at home home and have never needed assistance with my kids, but when my husband was admitted to the hospital, I needed someone to watch them while I visited him. I called her and she was very nice and courteous and I had no doubt that I would be comfortable with her. She met me at the hospital and my kids took to her quite quickly. She was wonderful with them. She played with them, gave theacks and kept them entertained, which is exactly what I needed. I'm so grateful to her and hopefully when she's available, I'll be seeking her services. She is definitely a wonderful babysitter and human being. Shanel watched our 15 month old for two weeks while I did my military reserve duty. She is a conciencious, responsible caregiver. We were very comfortable having her stay with our daughter. I felt she was a bit nervous at first... maybe I didn't do a good job of making her comfortable. But she warmed up quickly and became fast friends with our daughter. Can't say enough good things about Shanel: professional, personable, attentive, punctual, communicative--she just "gets it" and was a godsend, especially on short notice. Good vibes, puts you at ease. My girls (2 and 5) took to her right away. She was down on the floor playing Barbies with them, creating dress-up characters and scenarios, and was kind and patient when I was being a crazy person attempting to explain where things were and our routine while hurrying to get out of the house. When the girls awoke the next morning, the first thing out of their mouths was: "Mommy, can she babysit again?" - Marisa L.

Shanel is an awesome babysitter. We needed a sitter on short notice and this was the first time we hired someone that wasn't family.
