Part-Time, 7 Years of Babysitting Experience

I have worked in the childcare profession for 6+ years, primarily in centers. Prior to this, I worked 25 years in the business world. I began my childcare career as a volunteer in the infant room of a local center, then hired as a teacher. I have worked with and cared for children from the age of 6 weeks through kindergarten. I have worked as a nanny for twin girls who I began caring for from age 4 months through pre-K in a center, then 1 year at their home. I remain close to the girls and their family. I have continued my ECE training and am a certified Child Care Associate (CDA.) I continue to attend classes and seminars pertaining to child care. In addition, I have earned credits in ECE at a local community college, and have earned approximately 60 continued education credits. I am CPR certified for infant/toddlers, children, and adults, having been recertified in November, 2011. My goal when working with children is to provide them with a healthy, nurturing environment. I believe that children learn through play and enjoy watching their play and encourage them to develop their sense of exploration, likes and dislikes, strengths as well as introduce new opportunities. I want the children I care for to be excited about the world around them. It is very important that children in my care feel safe and loved, valued, respected, confident and be happy to be with me. I want the children and their families to know that they can trust me. I hope to be considered an integral addition to their lives.
