I started babysitting at the age of 13. I have worked with typical children, children with learning, behavior, and medical problems and Autism. Positive praise and encouragement throughout the day is essential and next comes consistency. Children that know what's expected of them and have effective consequences will not only behave, but will be happier. I eat healthy and would encourage that with other children.  I love to play and be silly. The word "no" does not often come out of my mouth. I use redirection and demonstrate appropriate behaviors to avoid control battles. Acedemics are important to me, and are taught in a natural environment. I work on realtionship skills through collaborative play and activities.

I have a M.S. in Family and Child Studies and a B.S. in general studies with an emphasis in Psychology. Through my experiences working with children on the spectrum I am able to look past behaviors and find the true meaning behind them. It has truly made me a better caregiver and my 8-year-old daughter a happier child.
