Hello! My name is Rebecca. I am 22 years old and I have lived in Montana my whole life - until now. In September I move to Macon, GA. I have one year of school left to get my BA in history and plan on finishing in Macon. I hope to get my Masters in a couple years, so I can teach.
I have 8+ years of childcare experience. I began watching children in my church's nursery when I was 12 and began babysitting when I was 13. In junior high I began sitting for a family with one baby boy. I continued to work for them as their family grew to two boys and three girls (the last two were twin girls). In junior high, and the first year of high school I worked at a local resort as a babysitter for guests. In high school I would babysit evenings for my 'usual' family and others. Summers I worked as a sort of nanny for the (at the time) three kids. I still watch the kids on and off, even though they have moved away. I started watching the oldest when he was about nine months and now he is 8, his brother 6, sister 3, and twin sisters 16 months.
When I wasn't watching those children I was sitting for one other family with two children: one girl and one boy. When I began watching them they were 5 and 9 months - now they are 8 and almost 4.
I am comfortable with children newborn - teen. I believe it is important for the caregiver to feel comfortable with the family - and the family with them. I have become an adoptive member of many of the families I have worked for, and it makes it so much more enjoyable.
I love to be active with the kids and do lots of arts and crafts. I am super organized and responsible. I am happy to help the kids out with their homework, drive them to school, and other activities.
I am a firm believer in consistency in children's lives, and I am willing to work with the parent's philosophy. Look forward to meeting you!
