Valerie C. Babysitter in Chicago, IL 60631. Looking for work as a babysitter.

My first babysitting opportunity was in Park Ridge, IL. I babysat for a couple who had 3 boys, ages 4, 6 and 8. We played outside, played video games and created our own fun games. One child had diabetes, so I had to monitor him as he checked his blood sugar.

Currently, I babysit for my co-teacher. She has a son who is 4. He has a lot of energy and so do I. We have a lot of fun playing with toys, running around and going outside. I also prepare food when he is hungry.

My current career is in special education. I am a 7th grade special education teacher in the general education setting (inclusion environment). I work with general education and students and with special needs. I have students with specific learning disability, autism,  ADHD, cognitive delay, emotional and behavior disorder. I teach language arts, history and writing.

I like being involved in the educational setting. I am the sponsor for the Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association (NEDSRA: program for students with disabilities) and chess club. I am also in the INSPIRE program. In this program, I meet with a student who has self-esteem concerns once a week. We draw, look at yearbooks, walk around the school to talk, bake and work out.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy watching movies, playing video games and board games. I like staying active by running, swimming and working out. I have a close relationship with my family, so I try to spend as much time with them as I can. I also like cooking and baking. I love dogs and cats. I did have a cat, but I had to give it away because my sister is allergic. I do have two African Dwarf frogs that live in spring water.  They are only 2 inches long.

Throughout my babysitting experiences and teaching career, I have developed positive relationships with children, students and their parents. I try to create a fun, yet educational experiences.
