Hi there! My name is Melody and I am 20 years old studying at DePaul University.I started babysitting at age 12, for family friends Jerome and Jenny Harrison. Their kids at the time were about 2 years old, and twins, boy (Graham) and girl (Morgan). After babysitting for the twins a few times, it became clear that I got along with them extremely well and Jerome and Jenny made me their regular babysitter.

I am really energetic, fun, and simply love children. I am an artist myself, so its really great when I can hang out with the kids and draw, paint or make crafts. With families I have babysat for in the past, I've found it an excellent way to connect with the children and let them dive into their creative side.

Over the years, I've watched Graham and Morgan grow up (now they're 10) and I've gained so much experience from dealing with sibling rivalry, to caring for them when they're sick, to being their cheerleader during soccer games. I also started picking up babysitting jobs from the Harrisons' neighbors and got even more exposure to other family dynamics and different personalities of children.

Aside from babysitting, I became a swimming instructor at Life Time Fitness during my first two years of college. It came fairly easy to me since I was so used to interacting with children, but I gained a new experience of teaching valuable skills. I taught children from ages 0-12+, and I was certified to teach the fundamental swimming skills as well as coach the swim team. I also renewed my CPR and First Aid Certification. This job has helped me develop more patience and gentle quality with kids.

Being Graham and Morgan's babysitter/nanny for all these years made me realize how big of an impact I've made on their lives (I'm practically their older sister) and I've developed such a passion for caring for other children as if they were my own; it's practically second nature to me now. I believe in being patient, gentle yet firm, and most of all understanding and identifying the child's needs. These values/methods made me not only a successful babysitter or nanny, but a role model the kids can look up to for years to come.
