Elizabeth M. Babysitter in Chicago, IL 60610. Looking for work as a babysitter.

I moved to Chicago last month to attend grad school at DePaul University for my Masters in Education. I grew up in Michigan and attended Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities. I then completed a teaching fellowship in Boston,MA and earned my teaching license in special education. Over the past 8 years I have worked with children of all ages in various settings including MOPS (Mothers of preschoolers), private nannying and babysitting, teaching in elementary and middle schools, working as a youth counselor at summer camps and the YMCA and running various tutoring programs. I also have two nephews, ages 4 and 2!

I will be starting as an Interventionist teacher Assistant in Chicago Public Schools for the 2012-2013 school year in September.  Prior to moving to Chicago I was a special education teacher for Denver Public Schools, a teacher's assistant at a Special Education Middle School in Boston. I spent the prior two years working as a teaching fellow at another middle school in East Boston. While in Boston, I tutored a seven year old boy once a week and assisted with supervising a tutoring program in my neighborhood. I baby-sit for children in my neighborhood aging from toddler to middle school.

I LOVE to play and watch sports. Volleyball and Football are my favorite, although I will play any sport! I also like to cook and am learning how to garden which is a lot of fun. I enjoy being outside as much as I can.

Experience:

I have been CPR and First Aid Certified for the past 5 years, but currently need to update. I also have been cleared in background check (CORI) to work in the education field.I am also trained in CPI non-violent crisis intervention.

Availability:

I am also looking for occasional weekend date night babysitting. I would love to find a family to stay with for a few years!
