Billie M. Babysitter in Chicago, IL 60601. Looking for work as a babysitter or mother's helper.

I am very happy to be putting a review up for Billie. She helps us with our 3 year old daughter 3 times a week and is looking for more hours. If I could find a way to give her more hours with us I definitely would! She has been with us for 4 months now and initially was coming 5 days a week but then we put our daughter in school twice a week. On the days that she comes, she is always finding activities and projects for her. whether it is field trips to the museum, millenium park,library, music class, playdates, the local playground or even just trips on the El or CTA bus, Billie finds ways to teach and make it fun. One big help I find is that Billie is firm and able to set limits effectively with my "strongwilled" daughter. Billie has instinct with kids and when she thought something she was trying wasnt working, she sought my input and advice. I found that when we initially started and I was setting expectations, it was very easy to let Billie know how I wanted things and she was very receptive to feedback. She doesnt take things personally- even when my toddler was sometimes "rude" to her, she had the experience of toddlers before so took it in stride! She is always on time or on rare occasions if running late she always lets me know. When sh is with my daughter she is always reachable by phone. If needed she sometimes stays a few minutes beyond time- its not like she is watching the clock for when she can finally leave. She knows a lot of children and sometimes with my permission brings them over for playdates. There have been a few times that I had asked Billie to come on weekends to help with both my toddler and 8 month old infant daughter and she manages both simultaneously well. Even when she is not expected to help with the newborn, she sometimes steps in if she sees that the little one needs to be held or soothed. Billie watched after my 7 year old son for three weeks while I was at work. I am a single dad and my son lives on the east coast. He stayed with me for the first time and I needed somebody to look after him while I was at work. Billie was the perfect fit for the job. During the interview process, I was first impressed by her promptness and her professionalism and she continued to maintain the same high standard throughout the three weeks. Since he was spending an extended time with her, it was important that he enjoyed her company. She kept him outdoors and active and they did Chicago things, including some play dates with other children his age [which he loved]. I highly recommend Billy and will look to her again if I am privileged enough to have my son visit me for and extended period of time next year or following . - George P.

Billie is AMAZING!!! She is always punctual, professional, easy going and sooooooooo good with my kids. My first babysitting experience with Billie, she came in and saved the day! Another babysitter had cancelled on me three hours before a family wedding. We needed help with our two kids while they ran around at the reception and when they went to sleep. Billie arrived with a formal set of clothes to wear during the cocktail hour. She had activities ready for the kids when they went upstairs before bedtime. And of course, she gave us periodic updates so that we could enjoy the reception knowing that the kids were in good hands. Billie is one of the best babysitters I've found on sitterycity. - Madeva G.
