Hello! To give you a brief summary of my experience, I will highlight what I believe are the most significant points that, as parents, I feel you would want to know.
I was given the gift of my passion for working and enjoying infants and children because of my mother. My Mom was a prenatal instructor for 20+ years and still teaches CPR and First Aid certification courses, so I would often meet parents in need of a babysitter for their child, resulting in a well-rounded childcare background caring for many different age groups.
I took child development courses for my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (with minors in Psychology and English) at Michigan State University. In addition to my extensive childcare and child development experience, I was an elementary teacher for kindergarten and third grade, two years and one year, respectively.
I have been babysitting since I was 11 for all ages of children. This experience increased my desire to help children learn and grow in healthy ways, as did my coursework at Michigan State University, spending hundreds of hours in the classroom.
With safety and caution being my first priority, I also like to teach children to improve their gross motor skills, fine motor skills, manners, social development and interaction, and language skills.
I'm like to have fun (and I'm often goofy), active, and easy going. I am also dependable, honest, and personable, and believe that in order to thrive, communication is key.
Last but not least, my number one priority is the care, safety, and development of your child. I would never put myself in a situation or position where I didn't feel 100% confident in my abilities.

Bethany has been an amazing sitter for my one year old daughter-her face lights up when she comes through the door. Bethany has always showed up on time to the dates she committed to and goes above and beyond while she is here. She will start laundry, load/unload the dishwasher etc. The house is always neater than what we left it after she has been here. I highly recommend her. - Melissa R.

I almost hate to do this as I don't want her too busy for us - but I have to say Bethany is excellent. So responsive, so hands on with our little one. And she even (and so did not need to do it ) but straightened up and cleaned some dishes/trays I had in the sink. We really love Bethany and so does our little guy. Just this last time with her - he was not feeling good and was cranky - she still got him to play and smile. We feel so lucky to have found her. - Gretchen G.
