I like to think of myself as a well-balanced babysitter.  I enjoy spending time with children, playing games and having fun, but I also believe in setting boundaries and do not shy away from inforcing rules.  I do not believe in corporal punishment but prefer to use time outs, positive reinforcement, and other tactics instead when bad behavior occurs.  Children need to explore their interests and should not spend all day doing the same thing.  I would encourage children to try new activities and and vary what they do throughout the day/week.  Taking children out for experiences outside of the home can be a good way for them to experience new things.  Zoos, art museums, theatres and other venues can provide a fun yet enriching experience for them.  If children are school age, I would help them with homework if necessary.  I've always excelled academically and would use my skills to help the children critically think through homework problems.  As a side note, I am great with pets and have a cat, Murgatroid, I call my own.  I am good with animals of all kinds and can take on pet responsibilities such as dog walking, feeding, etc.  Basically, I believe in acting not only as a caregiver, but also a role model.  I can help children learn good behavior and responsibility while the parents aren't present, all while having a pleasant time.
