I am a 5th grade teacher with four years of teaching experience. I have taught 1st grade and currently teach 5th grade. I have been a nanny/babysitter throughout high school and college and love working with children which is why I decided to pursue a career in teaching.

I graduated from Western Michigan University majoring in Elementary Education, minoring in Early Childhood Education. I am currently working towards my Masters Degree at Wayne State University in Special Education, Learning Disabilities.

I am extremely comfortable working with multiple children.  Through my nanny experience I have worked with children ages 1 - 15, both boys and girls.  I know how to handle various situations and am very experienced in nap times, bed times, bath times and time outs.  I enjoy cooking and baking and would not have any issues with preparing meals and doing light house work. 

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow.  As a nanny/babysitter I will achieve this by engaging children in hands-on interactive activities, indoors as well as outdoors in a safe, encouraging setting.

In addition to full time teaching and graduate school I love being with my family and friends. Running and staying active are also extremely important to me. I enjoy movies, walks, traveling, swimming, sports and shopping.

I am currently looking for a summer position to fill my time while school is on break.  I would also be interested in working for someone who is seeking an occasional babysitter.
