Monique K. Babysitter in Kalamazoo, MI 49004. Looking for work as a babysitter or mother's helper.

I'm a 23 year old stay at home mom who is looking to watch one or possibly two more children in my home. I have a 2 month old little girl born November 2012, and want to add one or two playmates for her (preferably infants or children under 2). I'd really like this to turn into something that would last for years. We play, read a lot of books (she has to have two bookcases for all of her books), go for walks, have tummy time, and snuggle. We also do elimination communication, basically paying attention to the baby, and when she has to go, we take her to the bathroom (no diaper rash for us!). Cloth diapering wouldn't be a problem either. I plan on homeschooling my daughter, so there's always lots of learning opportunities here. Oh, and we don't have cable, so your children wouldn't be parked in front of the television all day.

I've spent the past year filling in at a daycare, and sitting for various children (up to four at a time ages 6 and under), including two on a weekly basis. I have excellent references and plenty of space for little ones. We're smoke free here, and the only pets we have are fish and a hamster. Our country home has been recently renovated with new wood floors in the dining room and new carpeting in all the main areas, so no nasty surprises in the floor your little one crawls/plays on. I cook and would happily provide nutritious meals (except formula) and snacks. I know how hard it would be for me to leave my baby with a sitter, and I wouldn't want just anyone, so don't choose just anyone; choose me for your childcare. 

Located 10 minutes from Kalamazoo, 10 minutes from Plainwell, and 10 minutes from US 131.

Some more about me:

I am a graduate of Western Michigan University. I have a B.S. in Biology with a Holistic Heath minor. I have a healthcare oriented background. I attended the Professional Health Careers Academy during high school, and have had several health-related classes. I completed rotations in various departments at Lakeland Hospital in Niles, MI. I was previously certified in First Aid, and CPR, but need to renew my licenses this year. I am very interested in holistic health and herbalism. I would like to have my own herbal medicine practice taking care of patients and growing herbs, in the next 15 years.

I enjoy volunteering at my church and in my community. I  volunteer in the Children's Ministry as a substitute teacher when needed and I am currently teaching the 4.5-K class. I have had the most experience in the walking-2.5 yrs, and the 4.5-Kindergarten classes. I really enjoy working with children of all ages and abilities. I also enjoy reading with and to children and I also speak some basic German. 

I believe that:

1. The television is not a babysitter.

2. Children need to spend time outdoors (weather permitting) to be healthy and happy. 

3. Children need to be intellectually stimulated, and there are many daily opportunities for this outside of the classroom.
