I've been babysitting since I was about 14 or 15 years old. I moved to Chicago and nannied in the area for multiple families with different sets of needs. I also lived in New York for about a year. I love being around kids and watching them as they develope more and more as they get older! I especially enjoy aiding them in walking, talking, etc. I don't believe in being a nonchalant babysitter. It's very important to me to interact with the kids as much as possible whether it be homework to taking them to the park or showing them something new! I try to keep it interesting for them and myself, while being productive and doing what's asked of me. I love that each day brings something new and 9 times out of 10, it's always entertaining! I'm not big on plopping them in front of a TV and doing my own thing. In fact, unless it's a preference, you will never hear or see me use that method. I'm also willing to do additional housework, errands, etc. (I believe it specifies on my profile). If it's not, feel free to ask! Hope to meet with you soon!

Kaylee applied for two jobs I posted on Sittercity. I invited her to my home to meet my children and discuss the job and I had a great feeling about her as a sitter. She sat with my children once while I left the home, in preparation for a 4 day long in-home period. After the initial job I never heard from her again. I called her 3 times and texted her a few times but got no reply, except for being pocket dialed. She has an amazing energy and seemed very enthused about babysitting, but I was very disappointed in her choices not to return my calls. Even if for some reason she did not want to continue on as a babysitter, the professional thing to do would have been to let me know as soon as she came to that conclusion. She also complained about changing a dirty diaper, which is something I feel all sitters should accept as part of the job description when it comes to infants and toddlers. I guess that my initial assessment of her was a little off; I wish things had worked out better. I think Kaylee will make a good babysitter, but I think she has some changes to make first. - Rebecca S.
