I have been caring for a household since I was eight years old and my mother became disabled. At age eight I began to care for an older, ADHD brother with behavioral issues. I have also had experience with children that have breathing problems as both my brother and I have had bronchitis and asthma at a young age. Throughout high school, I cared for a family with four very high energy children! Running around with them really got me in shape! We focused on homework, balancing healthy meals, and keeping them occupied so that their mother (who was studying for exams) could focus on her work. I was there mainly from 4:30-9 most school nights for four years. Being with them really helped take the edge off high school - I feel that I was incredibly lucky to have them.
