I have always loved and connected with children. When I was 12, I took a Red Cross class to get certified and passed with flying colors. I was unbelievably excited! Directly after that I was a Mother's Helper for two years for a family of two girls, until they both enrolled in pre-school. Since then I have babysat a wide range of children, from one year olds to 12 year olds. I have experience sitting for children with special needs and autism. I have volunteered at a Spanish preschool. Currently, I babysit a three year old boy on the weekends. I am a student in New York City studying Film, Literature, and Philosophy. However, I will be home in Minneapolis this summer. I'm very familiar with the city, especially places that kids love.  I am an artist and a musician. When sitting, I love reading and making art with kids. I place a strong emphasis on tangible creations, imagination, and being outside, especially during the summertime. I expect the children I care for to be polite, respectful, and thoughtful, and work to cultivate these skills with them. I love to cook, especially healthy and balanced meals.
