My babysitting career began eight years ago when I left the corporate world.
I always had a passion for child development. Connecting with children, feeling the love and affection, and seeing their happy faces is the most rewarding gift.
My first year I started out assisting a mother with 2 year old triplets and a 1 year old baby girl. I also cared for 14 month old twins with another family.
For 2 years I worked for a lovely family and cared for their 5 year old son, special needs child, and their 10 year old daughter. My day began at 6:45 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Responsibilities included: Getting children ready for school with breakfast. Prepare dinner. Drive and pick up children to and from various functions. Special instructions for 5 year old included: guide and assist him walking with his walker 5-10 times a day, since he was unable to walk on his own, assist him with physical therapy exercises, teach home skills and potty training. I was proud when he was potty trained through my efforts and his hard work. Also, I would take him to Physical Therapy treatments and watch him work so hard to accomplish such difficult tasks and see the excitement on his face when he completed them successfully. Each time it was overwhelming fulfillment for me that cannot be described.
Five years ago I started babysitting for a lovely family for their 6 month old daughter. Responsibilities included all aspects of infant child care. Bathing, dressing, changing diapers, bottle feeding, reading, preparing for nap time, potty training, and teaching child development skills. When she was 3 years old her brother was born and I cared for both of them. The children are now 5 and 2 years old and I continue to care for them on a part time basis.
I have two children. We have had dogs in our family for many years and loved them, however, I am allergic to cats.
Open communication with the family is essential. I believe each household is different, and I will follow the rules, and procedures of the parent/parents/guardian.
Depending on the ages of children there are many different types of games and activities children enjoy. I believe in a growing nurturing happy environment; singing songs, clapping hands, hide and seek, puppet shows, marching and playing with toy instruments, creative arts, play dough, board games, ping pong, and going to the park.
I look forward to working with your children.
I have 8 years experience in baby sitting from ages new born to 12+, triplets, twins, and special needs children. I am CPR and First Aid certified. Safety of children is most important to me. I am reliable and dependable with a high energy level.
