Cara W. Babysitter in Astoria, NY 11103. Looking for work as a babysitter or mother's helper.

I have recently returned from the Peace Corps Serving as a Youth Development volunteer in the Eastern Caribbean. While I was there I worked in a variety of schools where I helped establish remedial reading programs and worked with teachers on classroom management. My main work site was at a special needs school where I worked on life skills and daily activities. Before the Peace Corps I worked for a variety of camps. My first summer as a counselor I worked for YMCA sleep away camp in NY. After that I began working for a Day Camp. All 4 years I spent working with third grade girls and was accountable for up to 18 children at a time. In addition to these camps I was an AmeriCorps team leader for a program called City Serve, which was designed to have the youth get involved in their communities. I've also worked as a babysitter and have had experience with a variety of ages ranging from 2 months-12 years old.

I like to be active and keep kids active. If possible I love to take kids outside so they can run around and get fresh air. I think it is very important to read with children so I make it a point to read before going to bed and/or throughout the day. 

Overall I am extremely energetic, patient, reliable, and love working with children.
