I graduated from University of Colorado at Boulder in 2011 and was working for a non-profit, Blue Sky Bridge, the organization performed forensic interviews for abused children. I was working with the children, doing office managing and working with the director of development for the organization. I moved to a tiny town in New Zealand, the sheep shearing capital of the world, and was working as a live-in nanny for 2 children; 5 months old and 2 years old. I absolutely loved the children and used my imagination a lot to entertain myself on my off-time (as you can imagine living in the sheep shearing captial of the world). I left the family in May and decided to travel around Asia for awhile-getting back to the United States in early December of 2012.
I have a lot of chid care experience, I started babysitting when I was about 12 years old. I love learning from children and hope to work in counseling or social work with children one day. I have nannied children from age 0-13. I have volunteered with abused children and children with disabilities, mainly physical but some mental as well. I would say that I am strict when it comes to inforcing rules and routine within a child's life, I believe that it's incredibly important for them. I was a psychology major in college and took a child development class, teaching me affective ways to discipline children.
I love being outdoors, I played many sports; volleyball, tennis, soccer, track, skiing. I am a very active person who loves to learn from others!
I lived in New Zealand as an au pair from January to April 2012. I cared for two children; 5 months and 2 years old. The job involved the basic caring for children along with light housework and laundry.
