Caitlin M. Babysitter in New York, NY 10021. Looking for work as a babysitter or mother's helper.

I grew up in Manhattan and, from the time that I was about 14 years old, served as a mother's helper (for 6 months) then a frequent caregiver for a young family with a newborn son.  I remained with this family as they welcomed 2 more children, and their kind references helped me to build a large network of clients within the private elementary school scene.  During the same time frame, I volunteered as a daycare assistant at the West End Intergenerational Residence, a community center for single mothers, and spent my summers working as a Counselor at the Marymount Summer Day and Science Camps on the Upper East Side.  

I continue to work as a tutor in Georgetown University's Sursum Corda Literacy program, individually tutoring underperforming inner-city students in language arts and serving as a teaching assistant in a first-grade class.  After spending the past semester in Sydney, Australia, I remained Down Under where I worked for several months as a full-time nanny.

My mother is a second-grade teacher and her love of children and intuition to their needs has played a large role in my development as a caregiver.  While I am very driven and responsible, I also have a very playful demeanor and love working with small children.
