I am a 32-year-old wife&mother of four. My children are ages 13, 11, 8&6. I have spent time as a stay-at-home mom&devoted myself to my children 100% for several years, often babysitting for others along the way, having as many as 7 children under my care at one time. I am very crafty, love to bake, play music, and play with the children outside or read stories&do projects indoors. I am very good at multi-tasking, intelligent, and always punctual for any job. The truth is, I just truly love children of all kinds. I was brought up by 2 loving parents in Drasco, AR, who were both involved in special education...my father as a special education supervisor for Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative, and my mom as a resource/self-contained aide, first at the Community School of Cleburne County(a wonderful early-intervention/school age/adult facility for those of all ages with special needs...coinidentally, run by my Aunt, Teri Renner), then at Heber Springs Elementary School. I have substituted at the Community School in the past. Furthermore, I have been around special needs children, and am very at ease with caring for those special kids. I have worked with children with the following diagnoses: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Fetal Alcohol S 3 years, starting at age 16, including doing physical therapy with him...he was a micropreemie), Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and children with hearing loss&permanent brain damage caused by a customer &hydrocephaly. I easily adapt and remain calm in even under pressure and during emergencies. Although I have my amazing, smart munchkins at home, I also have an amazing support network that allows me to be available almost any day/time...with or without my children being with me. We are also animal lovers, owning a golden retriever&a rescued border collie, so animals are no problem. I don't mind cleaning or cooking for you either. I pride myself on my reliability, dedication, and commitment to providing quality child care. I am flexible to varying parenting styles, having tried a few myself before coming to a decision on what works best for our family, and am more than happy to do what works best for you&your family. We have only recently relocated to the Portland area from Heber Springs, AR, and truly hope to have the opportunity and privilege to work with your family!
