Hello! :) I'm looking for a summer babysitting postion. First and foremost I absolutly love working with children. I have been babysitting for about 12 years.

I currently work as a special education assistant in an elementary school in Milwaukie. I teach reading, writing and social skills groups to studenst from kindergarten to fifth grade.

I have also worked at a daycare switching between classes for 3 year olds all the way up to classes for 10 year olds. In my hometown in Massachusetts I enjoyed getting to babysit for a family from just months after their oldest daughter was born all the way until she was 7 years old. I also had the opportunity to be a reading buddy to a five year old boy who was just begining to read until he was 8 years old and a great reader. While doing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at UNH, I was a mentor to a sixth grade girl through a mentor program at UNH called Project Mentor. I was also a Big Sister to a fourth grade girl thorugh Big Brothers Big Sisters. I have also babsat for families in  Durham, Lee, Newmarket, Deerfield, Portsmouth and Rye. In May 2011 I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with my Masters in Elementary Education and a certification in Special Education. I did a full year intern in a fifth grade classroom and in a fifth grade special education setting.

 I enjoy working with kids of all different ages and ability levels. I am kind, patient, creative, and adventurous. I am a big fan of children's literature and take any opportunity I can to read stories to kids. I also like to play games and do other activities that stimulate cognitive and social growth. I love to be outdoors. I swam on a swim team throughout my childhood and have taught swim lessons to beginning swimmers. I love animals and would be happy to help out with pets too.
