My name is Phoenix Musacchia and I am 20 years old. I was born inPortland Oregon and have lived here for half of my life. I really enjoy being a part of the community and I find there are many kind and open people here. I came to enjoy helping others by volunteering as a young adult after having had a fairly hard childhood in poverty, I am now trying to save up enough money to be able to further my education and travel to help save and better the lives of women and children in need all across the globe.

I am an artist and a very kind loving person that enjoys expressing my individuality and caring for others. For the last 5 years I have been taking care of children and elderly in and associated with my family as well as in out of home volunteering, I work very well with kids ages 8 months to about 10 or so years, I am also very good with pets and animals of all kinds. I have four cats and a dog that are family. I have volunteered with VOA as well as Hands on Greater Portland and spent a few summers volunteering with other organizations.

I am responsible and well educated in Care-Taking, my adopted father was a kind, noble,  man who was a K-9 Police Officer for 16 years and served in the Air-Force for 7 years, unfortunately he passed away this winter leaving a legacy of kindness, honor, bravery, and morality to carry on. He taught me basic and life saving CPR and Self-Defense to ensure I was able to defend and take care of myself and others; I also know both basic and advanced First-AID and have taken classes on all of the above.

I believe art in many forms is a good thing for children to be a part of, it's a way to express your feelings and personality, but for young children especially I believe it is a great thing providing them the tools to express feeling. I have a 7 year old adopted niece that I have helped raise for the last 5 years and have seen it can be frustrating to child when they are unable to express an emotion they don't fully understand. I love doing art and crafts projects with kids it's fun for them and nice for the parents to have mementos from their children.

I am now seeking employment mainly because last year I was caring for my grandfather who was diagnosed with cancer and he recently passed away so I am no longer caring for him or my adopted niece Jaiden full-time. I can cook, clean, entertain, care for and raise a child but as a visitor or babysitter it would be my duty to see that the lessons and morals you as a parent instill in your child or children are carried while you are away.

Taking care of my family is the most important this to me. I would really like the opportunity to continue caring for children, it's a passion of mine caring, nurturing, and playing are things I embody.
