I have lots of availability, and am flexible. I strive to create incidental learning environments for kids. If they don't even realize they are learning something cool, I've succeeded! I have strength in conflict resolution, and believe that mutual respect between the child and the sitter is key to a successful relationship. Building trust is a process which I value very much. I get energy from being around kids and believe in creating a space where they get to be themselves. I have the most experience with girls from the ages of 7-13, but I have experience caring for ages 2 - 14 of both sexes. I was a sub at an infant day care for one year, and have sat for multiple high energy kids, as well as special needs children, including children who fall on the autism spectrum.
My wife and I found Hannah here on Sittercity and invited her over to our Southeast Portland home to meet our two children ages 6 and 2. She was naturally comfortable with our kids and we immediately felt comfortable with her. We wound up having her spend full days with our children, including picking our daughter up from school, and handling nap time and meals with the 2 year old. She is so friendly and easy going and I believe she genuinely loves children. I honestly can't recommend Hannah enough. If you get her though, I just hope you'll share her with me when I need her again this spring. :) If you have any specific questions about Hannah, feel from to PM me. - Jack C.

Hannah is wonderful! She watches our five-year-old son when we have dates and he's always excited to hear that she is coming over. I asked him what he thought of her and he said, "Hannah is my good friend." She's warm, energetic, and spends a lot of time doing activities, not relying on a TV for entertainment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her highly. - Mary G.
I've worked with special needs children, building social and academic skills. I've worked most with children from the ages of 7-13, but have experience with newborns through high school. I strive to create incidental learning experiences!
