Babysitting began just before high school, and from age 13 up to now, I've dealt with a wide range of ages, from newborns to preteens. My most challenging job as a caregiver (part-time) involved three very young infants in a weekend/weeknight sitter share for families who wanted to go out/run errands.

The majority of my jobs have involved multiple children, as well as pets! I am an animal lover (cats and dogs both) and think pets can make an already fun environment even more so. I enjoy watching multiple children because I like seeing how siblings interact with one another, but I also like the experience of watching one child.

I think my past employers would describe me as dedicated, warm, responsible, enthusiastic, lots of fun, energetic, outdoorsy, creative, a great problem-solver, patient, loving, nurturing, learning-oriented, sympathetic, considerate, polite, artsy, intelligent, approachable, and hopefully other good things -- but most of all, they know I adore kids!

My philosophy is to keep children, regardless of their age, engaged mentally, socially, physically, and emotionally -- all while focusing on their happiness. I think even very young infants can be engaged in their own special way. I believe in as little television as possible. I'd prefer entertainment for children be sought out through reading books, engaging in various activities, and by the company of other children. Some structure is also needed, I think.

I've juggled 3-5 families a week while balancing an at-home editing job, but much more prefer to form a relationship with a single family. Currently, I'm looking for a single family to work for at this point -- either full-time, or close to it (30+ hours a week).
