My name is Katie. I am 19 years old, and I will be attending nursing school in the fall. I have always had a passion for children; therefore I am making them my career. I have had several different opportunities when working with children. I have been babysitting since the age of 12 for families in my neighborhood. When I turned 15 however, the number of families began to rapidly grow. Soon I was working for over 40 families.

Besides babysitting, I have worked as a Student Teacher I a fifth grade classroom over the course of a school year. I had a hands-on look at the education process while seeing what I could cross-over into my babysitting.

I have experience in watching children from 5 months through 14 years old. I have seen everything from teething to fighting with girlfriends. I also watch larger groups. Moms hire me as an extra set of eyes for a birthday party, or when a group of adults go out, I watch all the kids.

I am a volunteer at my local hospital, working in maternity. Part of my job is in the nursery/NICU. Changing diapers and feeding newborns has become second nature. I work over 15 hours a week, and feel at ease with very young children.

I am also comfortable with children with disabilities. I have worked with children with diabetes to sever allergies to rheumatoid arthritis.

My life clearly revolves around children, and I  would love for yours to be a part of it!
