I attended Dutch Fork High School in my hometown of Irmo, SC and went through the Teacher Cadets Program. There were times where they would test my nerves, but at the end of the day I still loved them regardless. We also had our good days too and I enjoy cherishing those memories. In my Junior year of high school, I volunteered for the Buddy Walk. The Buddy Walk was an event to celebrate and recognize children who had been diagnosed with down syndrome. A few things I did were set up raffle stations, supervise games, and ran food stations. At the end of the walk, everyone gathered in a huge circle while we held up pictures of each of the kids. We cheered for them as they walked through and it was the sweetest part of the day.
