Hi there! I'm Jamie and after finishing my Masters in Art Education at Columbia College Chicago in 2010, I relocated to Austin to work as a house manager and nanny for an amazing family. Although I am still happily assisting them and will stay on through the summer, their needs will be transitioning in the coming months.
I have such a passion and respect for the perspective, unique opinions, and creative ideas of children and hope to establish a connection with a new family that values the importance of art and imagination in their home.
That being said, I am entering your home and your family dynamic. I realize the importance of consistency in your child's world, respect the structure you've created, and welcome conversations about how to best integrate our interactions. Also, as a caregiver/assistant, I believe the importance of reliability, punctuality, and discretion cannot be underestimated.
I was certified by the Red Cross several years ago and completed a refresher course on CPR/first aid on October 10, 2010. As part of my graduate curriculum and subsequent student teaching, I completed several courses dedicated to the needs of exceptional children and worked hands-on to ensure their success in the classroom.
When not spending time with my spectacular nanny kids, I make some of my own artwork and entertain my huge rescue Rottweiler, Ramona and her two kitten friends. I'm also making a first attempt at a pretty substantial container garden of pumpkins, tomatoes, peppers, watermelons, and cucumbers. Fingers crossed.

Jamie was very punctual, actually arriving a few minutes early. Very friendly and professional. Our 16 month old was very comfortable with her from the start.-not a tear shed as we headed out the door. She followed all of our notes and suggestions. Our toddler was well fed, bathed, and tucked in sound asleep when we arrived home. We were able to enjoy date night without a worry! - Joseph K.

Jamie has sat for us twice now, and she's been fantastic both times: prompt arrival, very flexible (our return time was off by several hours on the first engagement), and completely at ease with 2 active, talkative kids (ages 7 and 10) and a curious dog. Jamie has taken care of my two boys, ages 4 1/2 and 2 for the past 5 months and has been outstanding! I have never had a worry leaving her in charge. Besides being punctual and neat, Jamie has established an amazing bond with my children. She spends hours working with my boys on beautiful art projects creating a love of art that I hope will last a lifetime.
