My love for children prompted my undergraduate degree in interdiscplinary studies grades EC-6.  Managing a classroom is like babysitting on a much larger scale.  Field based experiences have been in grades 5-7.  I was also a student teacher for a sixth grade math class.  In addition, I have been a substitute teacher for three years in elementary to high school classroom settings.  

  I began grad school January 2012 to get a master's degree in speech therapy at UTD.  I have experience with children with Autism through volunteer opportunities at private speech therapy clinics as well as the speech and language clinic at UT Austin.  I did a clinical rotation for 10 hours/week in the Preverbal Program at Callier Dallas for nonverbal children. I absolutely love it!  I have assessed children with various disorders for language deficits and can work with all types of children. 

    Outside of the classroom I have been a babysitter for many different children.  I sat for a wonderful family with a precious 1;2 boy in Austin September-December 2011.  It was such a great experience!  I really enjoy doing fun activities with the kids such as have tea parties or playing board games together.  I can also help the children with their homework.  My specialization in college was middle school math and science but I have taken background courses at all levels.  Other than that, I like to have fun with kids in a safe environment.
