I am 55 years young and married. My husband and I  have 2 sons. I retired from teaching kindergarten with Northwest ISD in June, 2008, with 28 years of teaching experience. I have a golden retriever and too many cats. I am a native Texan, born in Dallas,and have lived in Keller since 1982. I have a B.S. from Baylor University and 30 hours post gradutate in early childhood education.

I have always loved working with and caring for children.Children and pets bring such joy to my life! I started out caring for kids at my grandmother's daycare when I was a young girl and teenager. During high school and college, I babysat for friends and church members. I was also a summer camp counselor as a teenager.I went on to get my degree in teaching and spent my adult career as a teacher, mentor,nurturer and all else that goes with being a dedicated, caring teacher.

My favorite thing to do with children is to read stories and sing songs.I enjoy engaging in dramatic play with children.I like to bring fun, creative and engaging activities to the children in my care.I am an avid reader, love gardening and spending time with my family and friends. I love cooking,candle making and other arts and crafts.I also love to travel when we can get away.

I also do pet sitting either in my client's home or in my home. We treat our visiting pet friends like part of our family. Beaudie, our Golden Retriever,loves having friends for "sleep-overs" and the cats, well, they put up with the visitors.My sons and husband also love the pets that come to stay with us. They play with them and help with taking everyone out for a romp outside or potty break.

Providing child care and pet sitting services has become a perfectly natural path for me in my post teaching career...or in retirement.Pets and kids are what I love and I am passionate about care I provide.

 In my teaching career, I have taught children with special needs and learning issues. Some of the special needs include Downs and Aspergers syndrome. I have also had years of experience working with ESL students.

 My main goal with a childcare committment is to provide a safe, loving, warm, fun and creative experience for the child.
