About Hillary
I’ll start by telling you a little about myself. I’ve been going to school at ACC in Austin for a year and a half and I plan to transfer to Texas State as soon as I can. I’ll start by telling you a little about myself. I’ve been going to school at ACC in Austin for a year and a half and I plan to transfer to Texas State as soon as I can. I’m married and we now have a baby girl that is six months old. I love having my own family and I enjoy taking care of them. I've been a babysitter since I was twelve years old. I've watching children of all ages, from newborn to middle school. I've watched up to four to five kids at one time. Right now I do not take care of anyone mostly due to school and studying! I’m AM taking off school for the summer and I am looking for mainly a summer job only. I have no pets mainly because the house my husband and I rent does not allow pets. My favorite pet would have to be a dog. I love little dogs or even huge dogs. I like ones that can protect me. I love to help out in my church with VBS or anywhere that is needed. I only speak English. I'm not fluent in any other language but hopefully that will change when I go back to college next year. My philosophy of taking care of kids is to love them and care for them as my own. I think its best when you are hands on with the kids. Which means playing games with them, reading to them, going outside with them to play outdoor games such as catch or rolling a ball in the grass back and forth. I believe in time-outs that go off the child’s age. A minute for every year old they are. I definitely think you should spend a great amount of time playing and being active with the children. That helps in them going down for a nap or when they parents get home its easy to put them down for the night. I try to eat and cook healthy foods that will benefit your child in every way. I've taken a class on health and nutrition in college and that class has stayed with me ever since. My favorite things to do with kids are probably, going to the play ground and swinging (Usually means I'm pushing them.), teaching them how to swing themselves if they are old enough, the matching game, the color game (Which is I point out a color and ask what it is. Its a way to teach them their colors in a fun way), singing the ABC's, and other fun songs, playing catch, the little kiddie basketball some people have, and just about anything that has to do with having fun and learning. I'd also love to bake and have the kids help me. I love baking and doing arts and crafts. I love children and I love to see them grow and get their own personality. Mostly I believe that caring and loving them is the most important thing. Also my younger sister has special needs so I grew up helping to take care of her. She can't walk, talk, or feed herself so I have a lot of knowledge and love for special needs children.
Reviews & References
Hillary is an excellent sitter. She has been watching my 8 and 13 year old for about 5 months now. She is reliable, always smiling and the kids LOVE her. At times, I've asked her to help at the last minute and she is always there for me. She is very sweet and always on time. I highly recommend her! :) - Kathleen D.
