My name is Jen, and I grew up in a rural pocket of northwestern New Jersey.

I graduated from Rutgers University in May of 2010 and received a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Political Science.

Since graduating, I have pretty much dedicated my life to an existence that allows me to balance my love of children with my passion for the outdoors.

I moved to Cape Cod, MA in June of 2010 and worked at the South Shore YMCA as a camp counselor as well as the Boating Director for the Camp Hayward for Girls summer camp. There, I taught canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, and basic paddleboarding skills. After the summer, I was hired as an Outdoor Education Instructor for the YMCA and spent the fall season teaching courses in pond ecology, forest ecology, night awareness hiking activities, and teambuilding initiatives. I also led a low and high ropes course as well as facilitated learning on the YMCA's climbing tower.

From there, I moved to Australia and spent over 7 months backpacking up the East Coast while experiencing the authentic Australian life by volunteering on organic farms, couchsurfing and working on a dive boat off of the Great Barrier Reef. I also volunteered at a YMCA in Melbourne and worked with children there.

Since returning to the States in late August, I spent another season teaching Outdoor Education in Ma and have now moved to Stratton, Vermont! I am currently working at Stratton Mountain as a preschool teacher and children's ski instuctor.

Basically, I love kids!
