Hello!  My name is Anna Boldt, and I am interested in a regular babysitting position with your family.

I am from the Madison area, and I will be transferring to UW-Madison for Fall 2012.  I have completed one year of college at UW-Stevens Point, with a major in Elementary and Special Education.  I am looking for babysitting jobs around the Madison area starting this summer and lasting through my college career at UW-Madison!

Here is a bit of my experience: 

From June 2010-August 2011, I worked as an Assistant Montessori Teacher at Toad Hill Children's House in Madison, WI.  During the school year, I ran an after-school program for eight children, five days a week.  In the summers, I worked full-time in the inside/outside classroom for 25 students.   I became comfortable with lesson planning (stories, songs, games, etc.), managing an indoor and outdoor classroom, conflict resolution, parent communication, diaper and clothes changes, cleaning, and snack preparation.  I worked with children ages 2 1/2-6 years old, with a range of physical, emotional, developmental, and behavioral special needs.  

From November 2008-August 2011, I worked in the nursery at Princeton Health Club West.  Here, I worked with children from newborns-12 years, coming from a diverse range of family backgrounds and with a diverse range of needs and abilities.  I gained experience with speaking Spanish, and working with children with autism, Down syndrome, Asperger's, and other physical and behavioral disorders.  My responsibilites included computer work, cleaning, potty help, art projects, games, redirection, and conflict management. I became comfortable with assisting children with transitions and communicating with families.  

In my six years of serious babysitting, I have had experience with newborns-middle schoolers.  I have worked with families of all classes, sizes, races, with children of all genders, ages, abilties, strengths, and interests.  I have had experience with many types of babysitting jobs--from occasional weekend evening dates to all day, every day long-term summer nannying positions.  I am comfortable with all types of play, meal preparation (including for children with allergies), cleaning, driving, conflict-managing, and morning and bed-time routines.  I try to plan a theme or an activity for each babysitting date to keep it interesting for the children.  I regularly babysit about 15 families in the Madison area.

I am currently employed by MSCR and the Madison School District, leading a summer Kindergarten Readiness program for 4-5-year-olds.  While I am busy with that during the week, I hope to help out on evenings and weekends this summer!

Here are some of my other qualifications:

I am Assistant Child Care Teacher certified with the state of Wisconsin, CPR and first-aid certified, Shaken Baby Syndrome certified, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Certified, and I have had Child Abuse/Neglect training.  I have had years of education in psychology, sociology, child development, child care, and Spanish.
