Babysitters in John Hughes Movies

Legendary film writer and director John Hughes passed away yesterday at the age of 59 from a heart attack.
EVERYONE knows his iconic films of the 80s, regardless of what decade you were born in.
To pay homage to this incredible writer and director, we put together a list of surprise babysitters in John Hughes movies.
Surprise Babysitters in John Hughes Movies
Uncle Buck — John Candy plays the sloppy but loving babysitter for his 3 nieces and nephew in Chicago.
The Breakfast Club — Principal Dick Vernon essentially babysat the group of teens during their revealing and infamous Saturday detention.
Home Alone – “Old Man” Marley must have been keeping an eye on little Kevin since he was able to rescue the boy from the thieving Wet Bandits.
Curly Sue — The homeless Bill (James Belushi) acts as a babysitter as he cares for and watches over his young companion, Curly Sue while they run their cons and scams.
Beethoven – The large pup saves young Emily’s life when she falls into her babysitter’s swimming pool. Talk about a super sitter.
Dennis the Menace — Neighbors George and Martha babysat for the wild Dennis Mitchell when both of his parents have to go on a business trip.

I LOVE Pretty in Pink, and Sixteen Candles.
I adore 80s movies. Good stuff! Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is pretty good too.

16 Candles of course! My favorite. Also loved Weird Science. Felt sad about his passing as the generation of the 80’s gently move towards 40! Us 40? Boy it went fast!
