Don’t Let Michael Bolton Babysit the Kids
Crooner? Yes. Nicolette-Sheridan-dating musician? Yes. Babysitter? Not so much, according to Paula Abdul. Michael Bolton may be good at many things (like, say, growing his hair out), but babysitting doesn’t seem to be one of them.
On VH1’s blog, everyone’s favorite train wreck, Paula Abdul, revealed that Michael Bolton was her babysitter way back in the day. Apparently, she doesn’t have fond memories…
He used to babysit me. I couldn’t stand him.
Forgive me, but when I was a Brownie — you know, before you’re a Girl Scout, at first you’re a Brownie — I remember coming home from Brownies, doing my homework with a pencil on my L-shaped couch. Michael was babysitting me. He never took care of me, he’d just do jam sessions outside in our condos. In the condos where we lived, the Tower of Power horn section lived across the pool area, and the Porcaro brothers from Toto lived two doors down, and the drummer from the Jackson 5 lived there too. I have such a documentary musical of my life in the making. You’d never believe it! This was the normal, everyday, after-school thing.
Anyway, I remember [Michael saying], “Yep, yep, kid, I’m just going to be out there. I’ll be back in an hour, whatever.” I remember running on my knees to walk him out of the house. When I ran, my pencil was sticking straight up in one of the cushions and went right into my knee. Now I had a pencil in my knee. I’m screaming and screaming, and it was all because of him. He had to [skip] rehearsal, which he hated, and I had to get to the hospital. And that’s my experience of Michael Bolton.

Well, Paula shouldn’t have been running on her knees in the first place!!! That’s what happens for being troublesome. Sure, Paula, you can spin it by saying that you were “walking him out of the house”, sure, sure, I believe you. Don’t blame the guy for you being a terrible kid. Suck it up!!!!

Gee, that story sounds like a lie. I remember Michael Boltin living downstairs from me on Fountain St in New Haven, CT in the early 1970s. He lived with his wife and little kids on the first floor of a 3 story house. He played all the time at local New Haven area clubs then.

It says more about the parents than Michael Bolton. Why would ANYONE hire someone who wasn’t in to the job? Besides, if Paula was anything as a child as she turned out as an issue laden adult, Michael did her a favor. At least he showed up for work! Half the time on American Idol Paula looks either spaced out or drunk. Forget about it . . .

Who cares??? I noticed you used an alias screen name to write this article. Do you seriously consider yoruself a real journalist? We are in economic limbo, … Galveston residents lost their property and lives… stock traders that invested in property are concered with lose of assets. 7 more weeks until the elections. Why focus on such a stupid issue?

michael has always been a wounderful father. he did very well raising his girls after a divorce. so i coose not to believe this article. sounds bogus who knows could be a nicollette fan???
