But Does It TASTE Like Poo?

So many of us need that little extra kick in the morning to help get us going. To those, coffee is more than just a beverage; it’s a life saver. But how desperate are you for coffee? Would you pay $100 for one cup? Even if it were made from cat poo?

People in London are.

A posh London department store has just started selling $100 cups of coffee made from beans found in cat feces. Indonesian jungle cats, to be exact. As if that makes a difference to you.

Kopi Luwak, or Civet coffee, is made from beans eaten, partly digested, and then expelled by the Indonesian civet cat. [...]

Civets, who live in the foliage of plantations across south east Asia, are said to pick the best and ripest coffee berries. Enzymes in their digestive system break down the flesh of the fruit before the animals expel the bean.

Workers collect beans from the plantation floor, wash away the dung and roast them.

Tasty. We’ll stick to the good ol’ fashioned lattes, thanks.
