“Fur Shui” for Pets

We can honestly say that we’d never heard or even thought of this before! We all know about Feng Shui for humans, but “Fur Shui” for pets? Is their Chi really that out of wack? Yes, says one animal communicator who has written a book to help pet owners find balance through this nontraditional practice.

Paula Brown’s book, Fur Shui, talks about how balancing your pet’s chi can create a more balanced life for BOTH of you. In case you’re unfamiliar with Feng Shui, it’s defined as the flow of energy in your home to promote energy and well-being. Apply that principle to pets and you get Fur Shui.

How’s it work? Essentially, different energies correspond to different colors, and promoting certain energies can be as simple as introducing a particular color to your home, pet and/or routine.

A few examples:

Prosperity = Purple
Tie a purple kerchief around the pet’s neck to promote wealth.

Green = Family and Community
A green ball tied to the leash can help a dog with socialization issues.

Yellow = Health and Balance
Tie a yellow ribbon on the pet’s crate as he sleeps to promote good health.

Blue = Skills and Knowledge
Walk your dog on a blue leash to promote knowledge.
