How do I run a background check on a Sittercity caregiver?

If you know the username of the caregiver you'd like to run a background check on or if you already have that caregiver in your Saved Members section, here's how you can run a background check:

 

  1. Log in to your Sittercity account.
  2. Click Manage My Account from your My Sittercity dashboard.
  3. Click Background Checks.
  4. Click the button that says Run a Check.
  5. Type the caregiver's username or select a username from the drop-down of Saved Members.
  6. Type your billing information in the appropriate fields and submit!


The caregiver is then emailed your background check offer. When he/she accepts or declines the offer, we will email you to let you know.

 

If you don't know the username offhand, here's how you can run a background check on a caregiver:

 

  1. Log in to your Sittercity account.
  2. Conduct a search for caregivers from your My Sittercity dashboard. (Note: On the search results page, caregivers who already have background checks on file will have a background check icon on the right side of their entries.)
  3. Click on a caregiver's name to view his/her complete profile. 
  4. If the caregiver does not have a background check on file, you may click Run a Check directly on their profile.
