I offered a background check to someone, so why haven't I gotten the results yet?

First, double-check the status of the background check by logging in to your My Sittercity dashboard and clicking Manage My Account. Next, click Background Checks. In the background check chart, locate the background check you have a question about and view the status of the check.

 

If the status says "offered," this means that the caregiver has not accepted your offer yet. When you offer a background check to a caregiver, we send an email to him/her saying that you've offered a check. That person must accept your offer before the background check can be run.

 

If the status says "offer declined," this means that the caregiver has chosen not to accept your offer to pay for his/her background check.

 

If the status says "processing," this means that the background check is still being run and is not yet ready. Background check results typically appear within minutes of running the check, but can take up to 10 days to complete. We'll send you an email when the background check has been completed.
