People who visit Sittercity and conduct a caregiver search can see whether or not a background check has been run when their search results appear. This is the background check icon they see in the search results:

That's all that an unregistered site visitor can see, regarding background checks. 

Once your background check has been completed, your profile will automatically display a COMPLETE emblem in the background check section, along with a short chart indicating that your identity has been verified and that there were no criminal records found. Only registered Sittercity members can view this information on your profile.

Please note that we take your privacy very seriously and take careful measures to ensure that all of your information is protected. For example, we never display your address on your profile, we only display your references' contact info if you consent, we "lock" your phone number and we never reveal the sensitive personal information on your background check.
