How do I write a good bio on my profile?
Back to helpThe bio section of your profile is an opportunity for you to expand on some of the information you've already included, as well as add some additional information that you think might be helpful. Here are some questions you might want to answer to enhance your bio and paint a complete picture of your personality, skills and life:
- Do you have a full-time job, are you a student or is caregiving your career?
- How many years have you been a caregiver?
- What types of families do you currently care for on a regular basis? (Four boys under eight? A high energy German Shepard?)
- For babysitting, what age ranges have you sat for and which are you most comfortable with?
- Do you have any pets or children yourself?
- Do you do any volunteer work?
- If you speak any languages, are you fluent or do you have a basic understanding?
- Do you have any specific caregiving philosophy? (Absolutely no sweets? One hour of exercise?)
- Do you have favorite toys or games you like to play with the children or pets?
Also: proofread, proofread, proofread. Get rid of misspellings, grammatical errors and typos. If you're not the world's greatest editor, ask a friend to look over it for you. Even if that error is just an accident, it's still a reflection on you. Don't give care seekers a reason -- even a tiny one -- not to hire you!
