Quality Assurance Lead
Senior Web Developer - LAMP
Quality Assurance Lead
Attention all quality assurance professionals! Sittercity.com is looking for a Quality Assurance Lead to direct the testing efforts of our world-class product suite. This position reports to the Vice President of Technology, and is responsible for managing and refining Sittercity's QA processes and building the skills and capabilities of our growing Quality Assurance Team.
Key Duties/Responsibilities/Opportunities:
- Ownership and refinement of Sittercity's QA methodology
- Participate in requirement definition for new products and features
- Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and communicate test results
- Lead QA team members in manual and automated test execution
Skills and requirements:
- 4+ years experience in Quality Assurance, 2+ years experience as a lead
- Experience in a startup or agile product development environment
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing test plans, test scripts, test cases
- Prior experience leading QA resources in test planning and execution
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Good understanding of test data management, testing processes, and testing tools
- Basic knowledge of SQL, database, and web technologies
- Prior experience testing Internet or web-based products is preferred
- Prior requirements gathering / management experience is a plus

Senior Web Developer - LAMP
Attention all fast-paced, fun-loving, and startup-experienced tech gurus: Sittercity is looking for a senior PHP Developer. Don’t be a cog in the wheel at a major corporation - gain experience with the complete software development process. Our elite team is small (but growing quickly), our platform is LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), and the job details are as follows:
Key Duties/Responsibilities/Opportunities:
- Develop and maintain the cutting-edge software underlying Sittercity’s website.
- Participate in design meetings and code reviews.
- Manage database upgrades and changes.
- Write and maintain technical documentation.
Skills and requirements:
- 3+ years of experience developing large-scale web applications including at least 1 year on the LAMP platform.
- BA or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming theory and practice.
- Familiarity with RDBMS issues including designing schema, performance tuning, and ACID transactions.
- Familiarity with e-commerce and enterprise-level application design issues.
- Experience with the entire software development lifecycle (specification, development, QA, deployment, change control, etc.).
- US citizenship or work visa. Sittercity does not sponsor visa applications at this time.
