Hello. My name is Rachel Zacrep and I am 21 years old. I am a dancer and a literature buff of a home-body and I love to read about nutrition. I have been babysitting for about about 8 years and nannying for about 2 years. Despite my age and have had experience with a variety of ages and personal needs. I teach dance and have tutored a variety of ages and subjects. I have taken care of two different sets of twins starting at three months and it is my specialty in a sense. I have also cared for an infant starting at 6 weeks old. I am well versed in the world of diapers, and bottles, as well as potty training and toddler nutrition. I have worked with both formula and breast milk. I enjoy being a very hands on caregiver- I love planning crafts and fun learning activities and going on walks. I have worked with children on motor skills as well as the alphabet and colors and early learning skills. I tend to be a very calm person and always have music on or sing with kids. I truly believe that a nanny needs to be on the same page as the parents as far as discipline and lifestyle choices and I am prepared to follow suit based on a family’s philosophies. I am comfortable with housework as well. I believe I could bring a lot of smiles to children and help and support to a family and meet the requirements for an ideal nanny.

CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE:
McGhee Family Orlando, FL 2011-2012
Part Time Nanny, Ages of Children Upon Hire: 10 months (twins)
I have worked very closely with this family and the twin girls. I am the primary caregiver other than their parents. Due to their parent’s occupation, I am there when they wake up and I typically have a 10 hour day with them. I became familiar with their schedules and helped with all meals and nap times. When I first started we were still working with bottles and breast milk and slowly moved to formula then baby food and then real food. I have gotten very involved in providing them nutritious meals and do a lot of research on toddler nutrition. I also do reading on developmental skills per age group. I have also gone through the physical developments with them- sitting, to crawling, to walking and running as well as potty training. I also introduced them to the concepts of colors and letters and learning to use the mouth muscles for proper speech. I always make it a point to go outside or take them to the park. I also provide them with crafts, cooking projects, and new books to read. I helped the family with light housework including laundry, kitchen clean up, cleaning the nursery, cooking, dusting, mopping the kitchen floors. My mother was a preschool teacher and now does SLD so she helps me come up with tasks and concepts to keep them learning in fun ways- I am very into learning disguised as a game! I try my best to be consistent and calm. My mantra is 'remember to be kind, and gentle. We are kind and gentle.' Because I spend entire days with girls I am familiar with keeping children on schedules as much as possible and I am prepared to follow suit based on any parent's own schedule, desires, and philosophies.
Dunham Family Merritt Island, FL 2006-2012
Part Time Live-in Nanny/Mother’s Helper, Age of Child upon Hire: 6 weeks
From 2006-2010, I provided the family with occasional care of their youngest child. About one to two times a week. I provided mornings, evening, or all day babysitting depending on what is needed. This included bottles or meals as well as nap time and his bedtime routine. As he got older, I picked him up from preschool, helped with homework. In the year of 2010 (August 2010- August 2011), I moved in with the family and helped take care of the child when the father was out of town. Duties included getting him ready for school, all meals or snacks, baths, and put him to bed when needed. This also could include picking him up from school, play dates, and running light errands. I also helped with housework including kitchen clean up, the child’s laundry, bathroom disinfection and cooking. Cooking and care revolved around the child’s allergies and food allergies.
Stern Family Rockledge, FL 2009-2012
Occasional Care, Age of Children Upon Hire: 8 months (twins)
I provided mornings, evening, or all day babysitting depending on what was needed. When I first started we were still working with formula then baby food and then real food. I also helped while they potty trained. I would take them to school, feed them dinner or lunch, give them their evening baths, and put them down to bed when needed. I have helped provide backup help at amusement parks as well as stayed alone with the twins for weekends. When the parent’s divorced I still kept in contact and helped both parents. I helped tidy the house and made sure to let the dog out to the bathroom.
