Erin F. Nanny in Denver, CO 80220. Looking for work as a live out nanny.

I am a childcare professional with 8 years of experience working with children in a variety of capacities. Most recently I have been nannying full-time for a family with a wonderful 18-month-old boy. I have been with them for 6 months, and getting to participate in his rapid development over that time has been a great experience. Prior to that I nannied for a little girl and boy that were 5 and 2 1/2 when I started with them. I cared for these children 40-50 hours/week for 15 months During that I formed bonds with the kids that reinforced in my mind that nannying was the right path for me.

As a professional nanny my responsibilities have included preparing meals, child-related houeswork, arranging playdates, organizing trips to the library, zoo, etc, and bath time.

In addition to being a nanny I am a working artist. I also have a background in the performing arts. I think. creativity of any kind plays and invaluable role in healthy development of children, and I make room for at least one artistic activity every day.

My objectives as a nanny are to nurture, protect, inspire and educate. I love engaging children in activities that are fun and helpful in meeting developmental goals, but I also understand the importance of setting boundaries. I practice compassion and I let that guide me in my work as a caregiver, but I can be firm when necessary.  I think all of these goals are very important, and I think it is crucial that I work as a team with parents.  I am always open to feedback or suggestions, and I work hard to stick to parenting strategies.

I love nannying because it gives me the opportunity to have a positive impact on the children I care for, and a chance to form meaningful relationships with families.  Being a nanny is also an educational experience for me.  As much as I teach children they are constantly helping me learn how to be a better nanny, and imparting wisdom that is relevant to my everyday life.  Because I am so enthusiastic about my job I am frequently motivated to read up on child psychology and development.  I also take the time to consult forums for ideas on how to more effectively connect with children.  I am also on a constant quest to find age appropriate projects and activities that are fun and educational.
