My experiences as a nanny started in 1992 when I had my first born child. I decided to
stay at home and provide the care needed for my infant, since I had moved to America
from Greece the previous year, and everything was new to me. After I had my second child in 1993 I decided to continue my nanny position, and eventually, because I love spending time
with children, teaching them new things, and observing their amazing abilities,
I became their teacher, all the way from pre-school to high-school. Today, both
my children are university students, pursuing their dream, and I am very proud of them. My experiences as their mother, and for eighteen years as their teacher, has provided me with abundant knowledge, patience, and understanding on how to raise good, educated, and healthy
individuals. My philosophy as a mother and teacher is that children to strive and demonstrate all their potentials need a lot of attention, a healthy environment, a good education, and the assurance
that they are loved. Securing the mental and emotional future of a child is, in my opinion, the most important aspect of any caregiver, and is the reflection for the child's future success. In addition, my philosophy for raising healthy children, is that they need to be physically active in a daily base, have healthy nutrition, and be challenged with various activities, according to their talents. In conclusion, I also believe that it is important for children to be exposed to a second language from when they are very young, and in my case I will be more than happy to teach children how to speak, write, and read Greek, in which I am fluent.
