Dear Families,
 
Hi!  My name is Katie, and I am a Ph.D. student at Georgetown University.  I study neuroscience with a special emphasis on language acquisition and cognitive development.  For the past 6 years, I have worked in research laboratories investigating learning and language acquisition in infants and children.  During that time, I also worked as a before and after school nanny for a wonderful family!
 
Now that I have relocated to Washington D.C., I find that I miss being a helpful part of a family, and caring for children.  I am hoping to find a family in the D.C. metro area that is in need of part-time child and household care.  I am available before school (5am to 9am), in the evenings (after 5pm), and on weekends.  I will also be available on government holidays and over academic breaks.
 
I am happy to help your family in any way that I can.  In my previous position, I often ran errands or got groceries while the children's parents stayed home to play.  I can prepare meals for your children, do laundry and housekeeping, and even provide academic help and guidance should you desire!
 
Perhaps you need somebody to spend a few hours with your children after school in the evening to make dinner for them (and you, too, if you'd like!), and make sure they complete their homework?  Maybe you'd like an extra pair of hands in the morning so that you can get to the office earlier?  I'm able to provide either or both of these things whenever you need it!  I am also perfectly happy to keep a flexible schedule - for example, if you decide at the last minute that you need to stay late at the office I will always be willing to stay with the children and get them ready for bed until you make it home.  
 
I have childcare experience with newborns through age 12, and academic tutoring experience with children in grades K - college.  I am an intelligent, warm, and kind person who is easy to get along with and always professional and considerate of your home and privacy.  Because of my education and experience I am quite good at helping children use their natural curiosity to be come bright and creative people!
