I am a caregiver by nature and devote myself to my child's every need. Being respectful and sensitive to others is very important to me. I am dedicated to co-creating an atmosphere that is stimulating, encouraging, safe, and adaptive to each child's individual needs. My experience has been with children from infancy to pre-teen. I've been babysitting since the age of 12 (as many as 3+ children at a time), have 7 years nannying experience, served as a reiki practitioner for the last three years, and currently teach at a local Montessori preschool.

I am very positive and imaginative and I encourage others around me to be as well. I like to explore, play and have fun with children, yet realize their desire and need for structure and discipline is just as necessary for them to be happy. I frown upon television watching as it is very hypnotic. I like to read as well as make up my own stories or listen to others'. One of my favorite projects is to tell a story and illustrate it as we go, capturing the moment of creativity.

Spending lots of time with growing boys and having two younger brothers of my own, I realize the importance for boys to be active. It's stimulates there mind-body connection and allows them to be more receptive to learning. So sports, games, and physical activity is very necessary as long as it's playful and not right before bed :]

A few things about me...

I have taught at a montesorri school for the last 9 months, mostly working with children from ages 18m to 3 years old. I love children very much. My long term goals include working with children of all ages to develop their gifts, having a family, working with animals.

For proper safety for those under my care, I ask to be provided with necessary information such as any allergies, sensitivities, recent family traumas (divorce, death of family member or pet, etc.), contact information, specific household rules, and the presence of any animals. If there is no opportunity to meet before a job I like to arrive 30 minutes early to have a tour of the house and be given specific information and instruction.
