I am drawn to care giving because I love inspiring children and watching them grow in knowledge, character development, and imagination. I am fortunate because, through being a nanny, I am able to live my passion. Many of my favorite memories are composed of childrens' insights and the joys I have experienced in watching them grow. I enjoy being a nanny because of the individual attention I can pay to the child and the relationship I can develop with the child. I work with children because I feel like teaching and parenting are two of the most important jobs in society, and I can implement elements of both teaching and parenting in a nanny position.
For the past six years, I have been working in childcare. I worked as a nanny/homeschool teacher for younger children (infants to the age of 10), as well as a preschool teacher at The Goddard School. I worked with children of all ages at the school, from the infant room to toddlers up to 4 year olds. I have had overwhelmingly positive experiences working as a caregiver in the past, and I enjoy working with children and young adults immensely. Teaching is one of my passions, and I love to implement teaching in any caregiving position I take on. I have a great deal of energy and enthusiasm in addition to a cheerful and imaginative spirit, which enables me to provide an active, fun environment for children of all ages. Outside all the fun and games, however, I highly value a respectful, disciplined home environment. I accomplish this by setting clear boundaries, and consistently enforcing them; whenever possible, I utilize positive reinforcements and positive redirection. I think it is important to a young person's self-esteem to be recognized for good behavior and character, and I have found that children do their best when they feel safe, accepted, and loved. I would love to help your children grow in character development to learn compassion, kindness, and joy through setting a good example and actively teaching character building.
Kristy is very responsible and great with the children. She picked up our children from school and would take them places or play with them every day. She was great at following our instructions and helping around the house as well. She is very creative with activities and loves to teach and play. She is a good disciplinarian as well. - Tom W.

I have cared for children from newborns to school aged children as a nanny, and I also worked as a preschool teacher at the Goddard School working in the infant room up to teaching 3 year olds.
