I have been a caretaker as early as I can remember. I started babysitting for children in my neighborhood in middle school. I went to college and obtained my degree in Early Childhood Education. I raised three daughters of my own. The majority of my jobs over the past twenty five years have been caring for young children. I have acquired some great experience and lessons over the years. My strengths are my patience and reliability. I love singing and reading to children. Taking long nature walks is one of my favorite activities to share with children. If you would like to talk further;. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience. Thanks so much! Ellen Buetow

We highly recommend Ellen as a nanny. She is a rare find. We searched for a while before finding someone with her skills, experience, and availability. We were lucky to find her through Sittercity! She cared for our kids for 1.5 years - our daughter from 4-20 months and son from 4-6 months. We parted ways due to one parent stopping full-time work. Ellen has a remarkable gift for connecting with children, and our kids adore her. Her patience, kindness, and genuine care shine through in everything she does. Her dedication to understanding each child's unique needs and preferences sets her apart. Both of our kids needed extra support for their sleep schedules as well as tackling gas and tummy issues. Ellen worked closely with us to deliver customized care. We are grateful for this 1:1 relationship and feel it’s an integral part of why our kids are thriving! Not only does she ensure our children are safe and well-cared for, but she also actively engages them in enriching activities that promote their development. She takes them on regular walks in nature and to parks. She sets up interactive learning activities and plays directly with them - singing, reading, and exploring toys. She comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience on how to best engage a child at each stage and age. Communication with Ellen has been great. She keeps us updated throughout the day with updates and the most amazing photos and videos of our kids. She also goes above and beyond when it comes to household tasks. She is very on top of laundry and helps keep everything organized and running smoothly. Overall she is flexible and easy to work with.

Hi! I'm Iggy. I have 6 years of experience working with youth in professional environments. During the school year, I am a high school paraeducator. I'm a certified lifeguard, CPR/first-aid trained, and I have my youth mental health first aid certification. I have experience with ages 1-18, and have experience working with children with mental and physical disabilities. My favorite part of working with kids is helping them embrace their creativity and curiosity. I love finding what kiddos love to do and supporting them in it, whether it's building a pillow fort, reading aloud together, or playing outside. I respect the intelligence and independence of the kids I work with, and try to provide gentle, discovery-based guidance when needed. P.S. I used to work at an animal shelter and my house is basically a menagerie at any given time, so pets are a bonus and I'd love to help care for them as well!

Let me start by saying that I am available immediately. I am retired and find I have way too much time on my hands. I wanted to do something to fill some of the time so I decided I would like to start watching children for people that need a dependable and caring person while they work outside of the home. I know for a fact that it is a huge relief just knowing when you work outside of the home and you have someone there that is watching over your little ones that is dependable and caring -- that can mean everything. I have raised 2 daughters and have cared for my 6 grandchildren throughout their years of growing. When I'm not caring for your children I like to be with my grandchildren as much as possible and go to their sporting events. Spending time with family is very important to me. My preference would probably be to care for children 3 and over. I look forward to being able to come into your home and care for your children while they are in my care. I will do my best to be someone they look forward to seeing when I'm there. .

Hi! My name is Katya and I'm a sophomore at UIUC. I'm majoring in Cognitive Neuroscience in Psychology and minoring in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation. I'm a super social person and I love to do anything creative. I have a car on campus and I have experience in driving kids to activities, coaching gymnastics, and babysitting. I began working with kids when I was a gymnast on my high school team. Throughout the year we had a program called Junior Wildkits where I worked to help coach younger kids. In the summer I was a camp counselor for the same program. This past year I worked for a summer camp specializing in kids with disabilities of all kinds, and while I wasn't a counselor, I was the photographer and would often help out the counselors in entertaining and interacting with the kids. Through this company I became CPR and First Aid certified. In my free time, I'm very art involved and aspiring to be a photographer. My roommates and I love to craft and try out new DIYs or go on little adventures around town. I love to play sports like soccer or watch fun movies and I absolutely adore cats! I have 2 cats at home but I've always wanted a dog too.

Hello! I started working with kids when I was 10 years old babysitting cousins and siblings. I have worked at 2 daycares in Champaign, and I have a lot of experience working with special needs children and adults. I am currently working with a baby regularly that is 15 months old, I’ve been working with him since he was just 4 months old and I love having been able to see him grow! I'd describe my personality as fun, intuitive, and caring. I love connecting with children and employers as if we are all family. I care not only for children but also for parents. I very much enjoy hearing about your workdays and any recreational activities that you participate in. My skills include socio-emotional education and grounding techniques, conscious discipline, and the awareness of child development in regard to age appropriate education and recreational activities. I have an opening in my availability since one of my families no longer needs my care. I tend to be loyal to several families at a time and balance myself between them (seamlessly, might I add ;)
